Description
Steven Wasserman is a professor at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), where he conducts research on the regulatory circuits of Drosophila (fruit flies). His work has significantly contributed to the fields of developmental biology, immunology, and reproductive biology. Dr. Wasserman earned his A.B. in Biology from Harvard University and his Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Throughout his academic career, including positions at UCSD and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, he has taught genetics, development, and physiology to undergraduate, graduate, and medical students. He is also a dedicated mentor, having guided over 50 high school and undergraduate researchers and more than 10 Ph.D. students.
